Taking unexpected burdens off patients and their families during these difficult times is something Cancer Services has been doing since 1948. Our services include door to door transportation to chemotherapy and radiation, wigs, prostheses, bras, support groups, individual counseling, referrals, wellness classes, in addition to paying non-medical bills such as rent, utilities, or insurance. All of these services are provided free of charge at a time when patients are overwhelmed and struggling both financially and emotionally. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and flooding event, Cancer Services is proud to report that all client needs have been met to date.
COVID-19 has dramatically impacted Cancer Services. Now, more than ever, we are looking for ways to expand our funding. One impact COVID-19 has had on our agency was the postponement of multiple fundraisers. These fundraisers provided the necessary funds to assist with our clients’ urgent needs. The inability to host these events was a devastating loss of income, but we remain steadfast that our support to clients will not be reduced. In an effort to continue meeting the needs of our community, Cancer Services is inviting you to celebrate the season of giving with our 29th Annual Holiday Luncheon and Style Show, Home for the Holidays Edition. Taking place in December, we are encouraging community participation by donating or becoming a sponsor. Together, we will raise awareness and funds for our critical services. Please join us in celebrating!
